And notice that we disappeared during the week while they moved in - Charles is in no condition to be carrying anything heavier than a campstove anyway.
smart, talk about planning!

and a TWO year old? that's the thing that made me  but since I never had kids I never got real comfortable with them. I can sqee at getting a 3 month old to smile at me but toddlers...yikes.

glad to hear your trip went so well.

Not just a toddler - one who is not well disciplined. And we have a pool in the back which is surrounded by fence as legally required, but since it occupies most of the backyard, there is no fence between it and either of back doors. We are ALL going to have to be vigilant about keeping the door to our bedroom closed (the doors are in our bedroom and the attached office).

And if I catch either parent letting her run around with sticky food in hand again, I'm not going to be nice about it. My furniture has to be cleaned constantly from her sweet (literally) banana-covered hands. I'm hoping to make them kinda uncomfortable about staying with us for any significant length of time (like more than a couple of weeks).

We looked at each other as we tried to cram our leftover food now stuffed with THEIR food, and considered firing Sallie ("Sallie Forth!") back up and just driving off into the sunset.

Yep. The telecommuting thing gets easier and easier.

Sorry you came in second for the UK job. But sorrier you now have house guests that include a sticky fingered wild 2 year old.

Sounds like several trips in Sallie are coming up...may as well stay away as much as you can to save your sanity.

Except for the part where we are housebound while Charles recuperates. Maybe *I* will run off while the kids take care of him?? It might encourage a quick recovery on his part ...

I think maybe you are allowed to say..."As much as I enjoy having that little angel here, I also really enjoy having clean walls and furniture. I'm afraid that until she is a little more 'housebroken', it will be her parents' job...EVERY DAMNED DAY...to remove all the the stickiness she spreads around her environment."
