Hi
@gogetblonde ! I think you might be referring to the thread I started about flying and gassiness. Let me just clarify a few things... I have always had trouble with getting gassy when flying, and I had always been a "tooty" person. I would always take lots of charcoal pills and gas x before flying to try to minimize the discomfort. I had IBS for as long as I can remember and have been lactose intolerant for probably as long so I've had to consider these things my entire adult life. Now, at 9 months post op, I only go #2 in the morning and at night, and I only get a little gassy in the evening. I actually have less gas than I had as a pre op. If I eat bad carbs, I get horrid gas pains and the paint peeling toots (or death farts, as my husband calls them, lol) but devrom helps a lot and LOTS of WLS peeps take it everyday for that reason.
When I first started considering the DS, it was my main concern. I have a touch of a phobia about doing #2s in public restrooms. I really REALLY hate it. Someone on another site told me to get off my high horse and think about the potential benefits of resolving my sleep apnea and diabetes and living a normal, healthy life and to stop being a baby about pooping in public. She was right and I'm glad she said it in a harsher way than that because it sunk in
