So while in Socal I got another kick in the teeth

I am okay. Found out I have stage 3 liver disease so no more alcohol or it will become cirrhosis and transplant list. I don't want that so no more drinking is what it will be. I don't drink much anymore anyway so not the end of the world.

I am still passing out, anemic and have no strength or energ. So more specialists in my future to figure me out so I can get healthy enough to work again.

We're all in your corner Scott... Hoping you are pain free without further liver damage soon.
I just saw this post do sorry for not responding earlier. Thank you Patty. I really do appreciate all of you here and the great love and support everyone has shown me. It is very much appreciated and I am quite humbled.

Am I being too simplistic? You are anemic and passing out. Wouldn't a couple pints of blood help you out? I want so much for you to overcome your difficulties. Hang tough Scott, dig in, and don't give up. We need you here.

Thanks Hon. I will be interested in what Dr Prager my HEMONC says tomorrow. Hoping they do another iron panel so I can see if I need a transfusion. I have always had good iron panel numbers until my last surgery and it had tanked. Dr K infused me and a month later it was dropping again. I saw the NP last visit because Hemonc wasn't available until now but they didn't want do an infusion then but at least she got marrow test ordered and ball rolling. I will ask about blood transfusion.

Hope you feel better soon @DSRIGGS. Why are you anemic, my friend, so soon after infusion? Do you have any occult bleeding?

Hello and thanks Hil. I have been non iron deficient anemic for over 2 years now. My Iron panel only dropped right before my last surgery and I never had to supplement iron. Hopefully Dr Prager from IL Cancer Care in Peoria will have ideas tomorrow when we discuss my marrow findings. I am going to request another iron panel (They always do labs at each visit) to see if it dropped more or came up at all. If it hasn't moved positively I am going to push her hard for an infusion. My H&H and RBC's are not stupid low but well below range.

I did have occult bleeding at one time but my stools are never bloody or dark colored to suggest any GI bleed.

BTW, I like her and she is very good. Here is her bio and as you will see she was the Director of UCLA's lung cancer program so she has very strong chops. I asked her why in the world did she move from sunny SoCal to this lovely BS we are now experiencing. I am certainly not ready for 10 below on Sunday morning.

@DSRIGGS, both of us just hanging out chilling in IL... ;) Someday I *will* move where the climate suits my clothes just like the song says. Sorry for the anemia. I know how miserable it can be when the H&H drop.

I'm sure you're on top of it, but what's your B12 like?

Just got my 2nd dose of iron today and am already enjoying a boost in productivity from the first. Hopefully the second batch will bring on superpowers so I can get ready for holiday houseguests.

Anyway feel better and stay warm!

My B12 is in between 1,000 and 1,110

Saw the HEMONC today and she said that my marrow was fine and basically that it sucks to be me. Says there is really nothing to do about my Chronic Anemia, and of course the passing out she hasn't a clue. Got a whole 60 seconds out of her. She also said my iron is not low even though it Iron dropped from 69-54 (50 bottom range) from 11/6 to 11/21 and saturation dropped from 25% to 19% (20 is bottom range to out) so who knows where I am today????

Yeah I am not exactly happy with this waste of time, but oh well I shouldn't have expected anything different.

Thanks hon

I know you know what you are doing, but is your copper and zinc in range? That is where I really went off the rails. Do you think you are at a point where some nutrition (via a port and pump) might help you?

My zinc and copper are both at bottom of range but typically in. It is a battle to get both up and not knock one of the other down since they are antagonists. I am going to start adding a CREON capsule or two daily to give a little bump but not anywhere the boatload I took pre revision. Maybe that will help my anemia, protein which is just below range and other elements as well.

Thanks
