how many members do we have now, I see nine pages. I'm sure it says how many somewhere.

after trying a couple binterongs I finally chose a snowy owl for my avatar: I can channel the wisdom. but can they really have blue eyes or is this owl wearing tinted contacts? :p

I love The Lounge, I predict it will be my favorite forum. I'm in my PJs, I'm drinking coffee, I'm posting stuff of no importance whatsoever. :coffee:

Nine pages is nothing....as there are only 20 members per page! As to how many...look to the right of the main forum page...about 3 blocks of information below your avatar!

I did manage to get beyond the pj's but not by much...and finishing up my second cup of butter coffee!

ah, forum statistics - I knew we had that somewhere. 168 - but some of us are very chatty!

BTW, turns out snowy owls have yellow/gold eyes. so this one does have the tinted contacts. ;)

One time, some years ago, I was sitting in my living room reading a book, when I heard a noise out front. I looked out the window but didn't see anything. A few minutes went by and I heard something again so I walked out on the porch and then over to the side yard. A HUGE white owl took off about 3 feet from me! Scared the crap out of me at first but what a beautiful thing!! I often wish I had been able to get a picture.

Durp! I forgot to mention that there was about 2 feet of snow outside, the reason I could not see him until he went airborne.

I have seen exactly one in the wild, myself, holy moly they are impressive.

it was Christmas Eve in Duluth, Minnesota and late enough so it was pitch dark. like about 5 PM! I was out taking a walk and saw a snowy owl perched - and then, silently, it took off.

it was huge and incredibly beautiful.

PJ's, in bed, working on second cup of coffee, protein drink-check, ... Next up morning clean-up, second breakfast, and prep for football....
