If anyone is interested, please tell me how many weeks/months/years you are out from surgery and what a typical day looks like for you in terms of eating. Here is mine:

5 weeks out

Breakfast:
2 eggs
2 slices thinly sliced ham
cheese

Snack:
Large Curd Cottage cheese

Lunch:
Small-medium bowl chili with beans
Dollop of sour cream

Snack:
String cheese

Dinner:
Pork Roast w/ gravy (or salmon, etc..)
Green beans
(Occasionally) few bites potato

This ends up around 1000-1200 calories and 80-90 grams protein. Some days I don't eat this much, but I feel a lot better when I do. I'm hoping to be inspired by your menus!

Your menu is very similar to mine. I don't eat cottage cheese, and instead, I work in one to two 1/2 c containers of the Triple Zero Greek Yogurt. 15 grams of protein per serving. I hate yogurt, but I hate cottage cheese even more so I gag down the yogurt.

The only thing that I don't see on your menu is a protein supplement (I use Premier Protein RTD shakes - 2 per day.)

What you have listed is great BUT why just three meals and two snacks a day?

I eat more like 10 times a day even now.
First breakfast:
Yogurt
8 oz glass of raw milk
Butter coffee

Second breakfast (which I have not had yet this morning)
One egg
1 1/2 slices of bacon (I cook three for two of us)
Slice of heavily buttered toast or half an English muffin

Snack:
Deviled or hard boiled egg

Lunch
Hard boiled egg or leftovers from the night before
Premier Protein RTD

Snack
Cheese sticks

Snack
Cheese or deli meat

Dinner
(last night)
Bacon wrapped Filet
Bush's baked beans (about a spoonful).

Snack
Bacon wrapped cheese filled hot dogs

Snack
Frozen yogurt (I can't eat real ice cream as lactose intolerant and I need something dairy on my stomach for the NSAIDS I take right after).

Okay, Nine not ten...but I think you see my drift.

Great idea @heyclementine! I will add mine but kinda feel like it doesn't count since I had so many damn complications, but maybe it will help someone. My concentration right now is healing.

3 Weeks out:
Breakfast - 3 tbsp garbanzo beans.
AM snack - protein drink
Lunch - 3 tbsp. chicken salad
PM Snack - premier protein drink
Dinner - 3 tbsp chicken salad

Usually about 75 to 85 fluids - which includes juice, G2, tea, or water

one challenge - no fluids 30 minutes pre or post meal -

looks like you're doing really well @duh_Mom! you might try just a sip or two at mealtime since you had the DS and not the Roux-en-Y. I need a little water when i eat just to keep going and it hasn't messed with me as far as i can tell.

Here's my menu (also 3 weeks out--surgery twin with @duh_Mom):

Breakfast: Homemade egg/vegetarian sausage muffin with cheese (no bread, just eggs etc)

Snack: Protein drink

Lunch: Babybel cheese

Snack: 2oz cashews

Dinner: ~ 1/2 cup soy noodles with tomato sauce and lots of parmesan

Snack: 1oz manchego cheese

I copied my food diary from yesterday. My breakfast and lunch rarely change. I really don't need to supplement protein anymore, I just like to start my day with a shake. I only use one scoop now though, instead of two. My hubby and I are in our first week of Atkins induction, so my carbs are really low. The above 27 grams is before subtracting for fiber, which on Atkins you can.

Upon looking at my vitamin and medicine lists, I realized they were out of date so, I updated them and reposted below.

Garbanzo beans? Those would have killed me at 3 weeks and they don't have much protein. That being said at 3 weeks I was eating cream of wheat with heavy cream so it wasn't a great protein choice but I could eat it and I needed some food.. So I understand

2.5 years out

6am Protein Drink (2 scoops if Cytomax and water)

9 am egg and an oz of cheese on 1/2 an English muffin or lunch meat roll up or other form of protein

10:30 am cheese stick or a handful of nuts

12:30 pm 3 oz tuna or canned chicken or 1/2 a chicken breast and nuts of some kind and other chopped veggies on kale or spinach. Tons of full fat dressing.

Or if I do not pack lunch which is rare but happens...

Street taco carne asada onions and cilantro on corn tortilla. Or a 6" subway that I take a couple of hours to eat.

2:30 pm cheese stick or nuts or a 3 oz can of tuna with mayo

4:30pm another snack protein of some kind if I'm hungry

6:30 pm 1/2 a chicken breast steamed veggies and 1/2 cup of rice or diced cauliflower.

8:30 protein drink

@newanatomy How did you learn the nutritional value of your foods? Do you have a book?
I know you didn't ask me Barbara but Myfitnesspal.com is a good nutritional counting resource. Go to the meal planner and add a food and it will break it down for you and track it for you

Great Job! No way I could have eaten half of that at 5 weeks.
