Seeking advice - don't feel like advancing my postop diet

Help Support Bariatric & Weight Loss Surgery Forum:

Thank you all. I have been able to eat a tiny bit of egg beaters so that has helped, as well as refried beans and a ricotta bake dish. Other than that I have been eating blended soups. I was to start real food today and go on a cruise tomorrow which my surgeon cleared me for (it had been planned forever ago).
I am going to stick to soft foods and soup during the cruise and am bringing some protein shakes so I can have one every day and not stress if I don't feel like eating. Trying to kee it simple...

@Jo777 Thanks for the info on measuring. I was not given any guidelines for measuring or grams of protein to shoot for etc. I love my surgeon (went 4 hours away to have surgery with him despite having a surgeon 15 minutes from my house) but the program seems lacking. Could be that me being out of town I don't participate in groups so I might be missing something. I am going to look for other surgeon's recommendations and see if I can teach myself some of this stuff regarding macros and measuring. Just don't want the OCD to kick in which leads to guilt, which leads to F&$(# IT!

@VDLT, just jumping on here for a second and saw your post.. I honestly let my comfort be my guide measuring wise (couldn't really get much in for the first 8weeks or so, wanted more, just no room!) The protein goals of 70g a day, just the average for a woman my size, plus a little extra.. So as long as you supplement as needed with shakes until you can hit your protein goal- otherwise do what's comfy, protein first, then fats.. then carbs. I went to MX, and never did groups- not much of a group person, but very particular about tracking until I get things in line. I lived too long on autopilot and it didn't get me anyplace good :) I try really hard to stay away from the "all or nothing" mindset, which is why I only now weigh 1x a month or so, and no longer track anything.. but I needed to do it for the first year or so for training wheel purposes.
