I heard on the news that federal DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Teams*) are being sent to help. One of my nurse cousins is a DMAT nurse, so I texted her and asked if she was packing to go to Mississippi.
She can’t go. She’s already deployed to Arizona, ( I forgot to ask where, DianaCox ) doing monoclonal antibody infusions to those COVID patients.
I hadn’t heard that and we have news on almost all day. I wonder how many other teams are deployed around the country.
*They are like the National Guard, except that they work all over the world. When their unit is called up to work, they leave their regular jobs if they are still working (my cousin is retired) and their jobs are protected like National Guard members‘ jobs are protected when they are deployed.
