So, I placed an order. I had a 30% off coupon. That means I snagged $20 in Kohl's Kash. (I almost never shop there, but I had coupons and they had what I needed.)

But I forgot to order a bedskirt (dust ruffle?) that I needed. It started at $49.99 and is now priced at $29.99.

Too bad for me...I missed the one hour deadline. They won't let me add to my order and I cannot cancel it. Now I have to place a separate order and pay $6.95 shipping. Grrrr.

However! The 30% off is good until the 20th. And the Kohl's Kash can be spent starting the 17th. SOOOooo, if I place the order on the 17th, I can still get 30% off AND use my $20 credit so it will cost $1 plus shipping.

I'm not sure why it is better for Kohl's to have me pay $1 instead of $21 dollars, but they are the MBAs, not me.

Of course, they will probably raise the price by then and I'll have to come up with some new scheme...lol. The way around that is that right now, I COULD do a second order which includes the bedskirt and when the first order arrives, take that whole thing back to the store...shipping was free on that, so no loss to me on that move.

This behavior makes my daughter and her boyfriend crazy. I have been known to pay for roundtrip airfare for them to come play with me for a few hours...in and out the same day...AND I often whip out coupons for meals and other shopping experiences. They can't figure that out. And one VISA card gives two points (or more) per dollar on everything including cash back on that card and the other card gives us two points on everything EXCEPT the cash back thing...then they only give one point. So I seldom use that second card.

Maybe, just maybe, I can afford the airfare because I do use coupons?

Well done! One of my closest friends is a coupon master. She is also expertly organized and puts forth a lot of time and energy to earn that savings. I sit in awe of her capacity to get a great deal and it served her very well during tough financial times. I, on the other hand, can't seem to commit to the effort and inevitably end up with a drawer/purse filled with expired coupons and store cash. No doubt she will have less worries during retirement!
