Yes, bulk forming fiber will firm things up. I believe the fermentable fiber will help to feed our probiotics as well. Fiber is so much more than something to prevent constipation.
 
Fiber feeds the good bacteria in our guts. Hopefully making the expensive probiotics we take do their job.
 
So thankful I have not had issues with fiber, I just eat as balanced as I can and focus on protein first and then other yummy stuff
 
Am I the only person who doesn't take/need probiotics? I don't have pooping issues, other than on occasion it might be a little slow moving..but that works itself through.

I think I am pretty unique in the fact that I really haven't found a food that messes with my stomach in terms of gas, bloating or constipation (other than eating too much of a thick pasta type dish).

Scott, I had an iron gut EARLY on...except for lactose intolerance. But as the years roll by, different things now affect me that did not affect me the first year. Things can change for each of us overnight.

Yep, I am very cognizant of that fact and always waiting to eat something and then hurl it. Up until 6-9 months I couldn't eat tomatoes (yep they came back out) and things with breading were very hard on me. I had a tenderloin (Breaded and deep fried...midwest thing) with tomato onion and pickly and wow was that a mistake..thought I was going to die.

It was somewhere between 6-9 months when I started to be able to eat large volumes and just about anything....but as you say I know this can change so I am always on the watch.

I think you've found out (the hard way, unfortunately) that you're pretty unique among us in what you can tolerate, both symptom wise, and weight wise. That being said, probiotics are taken for many different reasons, with normies too. With some it helps with odor, some with frequency (less or more) and some just take them because our intestinal flora can be messed up from being sliced and diced and a healthy gut is being shown, more and more, to reflect better health in general.
 
It's all about the gut flora for me right now. I am not having and really nightmarish problems neither, do I want to. I am using more artificial sweeteners and I don't like reading what they can do to the flora so, I am compensating for what I imagine is happening.
