Last week 129
This week 128
I‘m no longer under tall as Garfield complained when someone told him he was overweight. I have to use metric to figure my BMI since I’m 5’2.5” (1.588m) and the inches scales doesn’t like decimal points. But my MyChart keeps my height in meters anyway for me so all I have to convert is the lbs. 128 is 58.059kg. So my BMI is a 23, absolutely normal.

A friend, who hasn’t actually seen me in almost 2 years thanks to Covid says that’s too thin, but she’s use to me being 5’4” not 5’2.5” and that a big difference. I look in the mirror and don’t look too thin, not like 2012 when I did look scrawny but I was taller.

I'm only down to 169 and I'm somewhere between 5'3 and 5'4, but people are already asking me... "how much weight are you going to lose"? I figure I need to be at least 141 to be normal BMI. Back in my diet hey days I could drop 28 lbs in 2 weeks if I really tried, but 40 would come back. It was like I chased seagulls off and they went away, but brought reinforcements when they came back. I think you should stay at what weight makes you comfortable. I don't know why other people think they have any say in the matter.

Last Week: 171
This Week: 169
Let's see how the DS holds up to Thanksgiving.
Not going to try to overdo it, but I am having some madness potatoes and pie. Then I will gas my family into oblivion, and fall asleep content into a food coma.

You are doing good. 5’4” is 145 for normal. As far as others how much you are going to lose, just do whatever feels comfortable:
  1. stare at them but don’t say anything. Makes them uncomfortable and they realize how rude they sound
  2. answer, why do you want to know?
  3. whatever my doctor and I decide what is appropriate for me
  4. til I hit a normal BMI for my height and am no longer overweight
Remember, they are looking at you with “fat“ eyes. How they are use to seeing you, not as a normal size person but as an obese person. And that is a hard habit for them to overcome.

Remember, focus on protein first but don’t deprive yourself of whatever you want to taste. Taking a very small spoon of whatever you want to taste helps but protein first.
Lol that's mashed potatoes not madness. Lol
Actually madness is kinda cute!

This week started last Thursday and kept on going. Have a lot of folks out with the plague so I've been doing 14 hour days with some phone tag in my "downtime." Thankfully haven't gained in spite of eating quite badly.
Had a doctor's visit Wednesday that led to an X-Ray. I've been having trouble with numbness and weakness in my legs. My spine has apparently tired of being conventional and is trying for a new and interesting shape (4 of the 5 vertebrae in my lumbar spine are not where they're supposed to be). Have a CT scan scheduled in a couple weeks. The good thing about being half the man I used to be is my back is under a lot less load, but there's still the cumulative damage of nearly 40 years of carrying around excess weight.
Nowhere to go but forward. Hope all are well.

Glad you haven’t gained but sorry to hear about your spine. I suspect you will first start with PT to help with your back. Are you seeing a spine surgeon? That’s where they usually start, is with PT.

133.8 this morning and 139.8 a week ago. I saw my PCP on Monday afternoon (my 44th birthday) as I was having some real hormonal rage and insomnia like never before. She's taken me off the BCP and we'll test my hormones in 30 days after the BCP is out of my system, if needed. I've added a Lexapro in the evenings and she gave me Ambien for sleep. The Ambien makes me feel terrible and I still can't sleep all night when I take it. I am hopeful things will improve this week.

I'm glad you went to the doctor, Don! I will send you positive vibes.

I'm scheduled for an MRI on Dec 10th then I'm assuming I go from there to an Orthopedic surgeon (Doc said at the start of this that she'd refer me to a Neurologist or an Ortho depending on what scans showed). I'd assume a PT as well, though my company has some new thing starting January 1 where they want to have you watch videos and do zoom sessions with some cheap-o outsource company rather than going physical therapy for back problems so who knows how that will play out.
