These are from the flight home, and Ben Stein was sitting across the aisle from me and was a nice guy....he was nice enough to take a picture with Cameron.

Here is a picture of Cameron and Ben Stein (Cameron was doing pretty well on that day - Dr K gave him a regional pain block in the ER the night before and it really helped)

Dr K said something really cool to me when before surgery he was drawing a diagram of possible things he was going to do. He said, you know it is a matter of experience and a judgement call as to how deep you go with the cut (talking about potential pyloroplasty that he ended up not having to do) and there are now red, yellow or green color coded graphics that say oops, you are now in the red area.

The pictures above just point out to me how skilled surgeons are to be able to make heads or tails out of what appears to be a bunch of stuff to me.

LOL, for those of you who Dr K here are pictures he drew for us to explain things (He told me if I sell it on ebay he wants his cut...LOL I love his sense of humor)

Love the photos of y'all coming home. The ones of the inside of Cameron are confusing to me but then again I don't know what I am really looking at so it's hard to make heads or tails of it.

Yeah they are confusing to me too.

The first is the section of small intestine Dr k took out.. That nodule is the meckels diverticulum.

The others are pictures of the hiatal hernia and the wrap... Fundus wrapped around the esophagus. The green stuff are the stitches that were undone and had to be redone.

I don't know exactly what that area is supposed to look like but Dr K said it was a significant hiatal hernia.

Glad you were able to get Dr. K involved and hope that Cameron is feeling better every day!

Really cool you got to meet Ben Stein and I'm happy all went well! Ben Stein is a VERY smart man on many subjects IMO.
