...remember the Beatitudes? From The Sermon on the Mount? They all start “Blessed are the...”. I think there should have been an additional one...something like:

Blessed are the mommies of people, even middle-aged people, with symptomatic, active COVID-19; for some day...maybe...they will cease grinding their teeth and sleeping weird hours and being pissed off that because they take opioids they can’t hit the booze and the leftover Xanax.

I want my baby to be well and especially not have those horrid post-recovery side effects. She has a far less severe case than many other people. So there’s that. And her employment situation is far better than most COVID-19 patients have to deal with...but...

my baby is sick :0002016: and I’m scared. And it needs to STOP and GO AWAY.

I can't imagine how scary it must be. A non-narcotic/controlled substance relaxation method might help. While searching for this, I found items about Smartphone apps. Couldn't hurt. It's also called paced breathing.

I’m gonna try that. Exhaling is the hard part of emphysema, but I’ve never timed it. I’ll let you know. Unless I fall asleep! LOL

It's funny you mentioned falling asleep because I was actually warned about that when my doctor taught me paced breathing. He said it wasn't a good idea to ease tension while driving. So I just rely on my usual cussing. No more flipping people off, though. Well, at least not where people can see my hands. My knees see a lot of my middle finger.

I seem to remember you mentioning lung problems. Just do what you can. Best wishes.
