I just found out I have osteoporosis. There are so many options for meds, but they all have downsides. Two people I know take Prolia, but I’ve also been told Reclast, and so on and so on!! I’m tempted to skip meds and hope taking more calcium and D3 will help. Anyone in the same dilemma?

Depends on how bad your scores are. I started with Reclast years ago. It stopped the damage but I was starting to run out of time with it. I found out recently that Prolia helped diabetics so I switched to it.

Do you have recent labs? If so what is your calcium, D, and PTH?

Calcium 9.1, PTH 47, D 62. That was January 2024. LT neck yield scores -2.9, there has been a 6.5%decrease in bone mineral density in the hips. Risk for osteoporotic fracture is 19.0% and risk for hip fracture 6.6%.
TBS score 1.270. I don’t know if this tells you anything.
I was taking 4 Citracal per day, D3 50,000 3 times a week, 800 magnesium per day.

So the same mg per day of magnesium as calcium? Can I take magnesium the same time as calcium? I was taking 800 mg of magnesium and 2600 of calcium. And I was spreading 2 hours in between them. So do you take k2 besides the mk7

I would base the amount of magnesium you take on your magnesium level. Mine runs high normal and occasionally just over high normal even though I don't supplement magnesium, and never have (except for the little bit in my multi). Others do need to supplement. I don't know why, but each of us seems to be different. I do agree with the D every day, and some of us, like me, need 50,000 twice daily.
