Well, two rooms left to go. Dining room, thanks to yesterday’s clean up, was easy today. Only piece we didn’t move to mop under was the desk. I did mop around it.

I forgot about the hallway, asked Charles where he wanted it included, he said the living room. Has a very dirty boot tray. Something we never needed in the south.

We've always got muddy shoes in our household! Looks like you are making good progress.

We nailed down the time a bit better today. Pickup at that end is the 4th, so Charles will drive down on Mon the 3rd. It’s an 8 hour drive, I’ll stay here with the critters. As soon as he’s signed it out if the storage facility and onto the truck, he’s heading home. They will arrive either the 5th or the 6th depending on traffic.

So I will be without a car for two days. I really won’t need one. At least I hope I won’t. If an emergency comes up, I’ll call 911 anyway, and then my minister.

Ok, all that’s left is the kitchen. The original TV stand that we got that didn’t work for the TV, ended up in the kitchen as storage spot for lots of stuff. We emptied that onto the dining room table and move the stand into the hallway out of the kitchen. I have a bakers rack coming for all my small appliances and it was sitting where that is going. I rescued cat toys from underneath.

But both of us ache today.

We also have nailed down the day we are getting our furniture picked up, the 4th. The will be here the 5th or 6th, I expect the 6th.

I’m seeing a light at the end of a tunnel and it’s not an oncoming train.

I did the kitchen today, as small as it is, it’s a lot of work but mostly a solo act. He did vacuum behind the stove. We found a heat vent behind the stove. Still scratching our heads over that location. I emptied out one section, clean it, move stuff to it, clean the next, and work around.

In the meantime, Charles started laundry. When I was out for the count from surgery in June, he finally conquered learning those beasts. It helps if he starts them. And he fold and puts his stuff away.

The only room not done is the bathroom and I’ll likely do that on Monday. Nothing is getting moved in there anyway.

Yesterday about an hour after Charles left at 7AM, the electricity went out for almost 30 minutes. Went it came back on, I thought everything was fine. About 10 am, I realized the house was getting cold. So I check the thermostat app. It wouldn’t come up. Apparently we had an electrical short between the furnace and electrical panel cause it was found to today by our HVAC guy.

So I’m wrapped in lots of layers, so are all the critters.

He’ll be back tomorrow and yes, it’s something he can fix. The weather is a bit warmer today and tomorrow.

I'm glad there are a lot of you, to share body heat. I hope you get it fixed ASAP.
So am I, it also helped that it wasn’t as cold last night. Talked to him this morning, he’s already on the road, he left yesterday stayed in Fancy Gap, VA last night but is fighting rain this morning. Said he should be home about noon. So crossing fingers, toes, and everything thing else, we should have heat this evening.

He’s home. After he ate lunch, went and got a money order for the final payment, we dealt with the junction box that apparently caused all the hate and discontent. Took about 45 mins only because we had to dig for stuff, it’s fixed. The HVAC guy who discovered it was the junction box said we needed an electrician, I realized no, we didn’t. He had worked on that one before so it was SSSSSOOOO OLD. But the minute I took the cover off, I smelled burning exposed wire, so I knew it was the issue. So he took it apart, fixed, it and now….

WE HAVE HEAT!!!!
