I have Covid

never got the headache yesterday and today I have no sysmptoms at all, so far. I texted my boss and she said I could start back to work on Monday at one facility, as the "10 days symptom free" is only for the other facility.

so I may have jumped the gun and am ready to text my boss at any sign of ...well, more than a vague feeling my ears don't feel right. which is what I'm getting right now.

and I don't get a covid test, my boss tells me, because I will test positive for 30 days.

so, is it OK for me to go to the laundomat? I'd wear a mask, of course.

Wait a minute, dammit!

So, when you can return to work depends on what kind of facility? I didn’t see that on this page.

my boss is a local despot - the area manager lets her do what she wants because she has a very strong personality, knows everybody and has run the place for years. she's going to listen to whatever number the facilities tell her and I have not found them to be run in a consistently competent manner.

since I still have symptoms I texted her with I felt justified in mentioning a fever. I'm sure not ready to go back to work on Monday.

I think you don't need a daily post anymore, Liz. southernlady
my sense of smell came back this morning and while I sure don't feel 100% I haven't had a fever since Tuesday, I think it was.

time to plow ahead back into the life I had before, just plodding ahead best I can. this is the New Normal for awhile, I suspect. I am back to the unpacking I suspended when I had a houseguest and I need to go to the laundromat soon. it'll be tiring but has to be done.

the smell seems huge, though: bit of normal!

Okay, just make sure you post like before, occasionally when the spirit move. I’m glad your smell came back, sounds like you truly are on the mend now.

Glad to hear you are getting better! Take it as easy as possible. A friend who had it was very fit and she said it was about 6 weeks before she could do a flight of stairs without wheezing!

I wasn't very fit before, sadly. yes, the hardest part appears to be just getting my energy back.
still having a headache to some extent every evening and hoping that will fade. I started taking Flonase 2 days ago and can't tell if it's helping at all.

I have been out of touch with my main facility and my boss never updated me. at least 4 long term care people have died, 2 of whom I had worked with and knew well.

this was all preventable, as the local hospital did not let us know a patient had been exposed for a week and a half. I am heart broken.

Were they vaccinated? Are they allowing non-vaxxed people to work in long-term care facilities??

I’m so sorry.
