I am going to Rome in March, I want to make sure to find all the artwork and fountains mentioned in the books.
OMG, this just sunk into my brain! good for you, that is fantastic. how long will you be there?

I would start with Angels & Demons but his The Da Vinci Code is probably the most famous and the one that caused a huge flap in the Catholic Church. (the film version starring Tom Hanks)Dan Brown, eh? which one should I start with?

I finally finished Storm of Swords, returned it to the library and did not check out a Feast For Crows. I read some reviews on amazon first and decided it was more of the same and I need a break.
I'm glad Tyrion killed his Dad but unclear on if he had actually poisoned his nephew or not. I assumed he was innocent until his conversation with his brother. and it would be great if he could one day find his first wife!
Arya is off overseas so that is interesting - maybe she will meet Dany!
Jon is going to be Lord Commander of The Night Watch, saw that coming a mile away (unusual for the series to be predictable!) and mentioned to a friend of mine who has only seen the TV show that Cat is still alive (but horribly maimed, apparently) and she said on TV she did not survive. well. if only someday she could find out Bran and her youngest son...I forget his name - are still alive. and her daughters, too!
beats me how ANYone could suspect Sasha of killing Josh. those that have met her can't believe she is capable. too passive!!
Gone Girl was great, now I need to see the movie! Not a spoiler: Tyrion did not kill Joffrey.
I just finished listening to Unbroken, it was of course tragic, and uplifting, I am a little sick of that type of book. Jaded much?!
I am listening to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I am not too far in yet, seems pretty good so far though. I'll let ya know.
I second Pompeii, and if you have time, the ferry ride from Naples to Capri. That was my favorite, FAVORITE part. Especially The Blue GrottoI'm just lurking here because I watch the series when it is available and have been reading through the books from stolen moment to stolen moement, but keep forgetting what I've seen vs. what I've read and then forget who is who and what is what and starting over!
@newanatomy I'm so excited for your visit to Rome. I haven't been there since our honeymoon 13 years ago. If you can spare a day, a train ride to Pompeii (Napoli) is well worth it! Please tell us all about your adventures in the Spring once you're back stateside!!!!!
I saw it yesterday! Some of them are too ridiculous, but some make perfect sense!Have you seen this:

I can get on board with some of it, some not so much, all fun though.
