well the gall bladder came out last night. We were able to keep it laparoscopic and quick.

I’m a little sore (but better than while in an attack). Onviously a bit bloated.

Any suggestions recommendations from those who have been here done this?

A lady at work recommended maternity pants for the ride home and days after. I found that to be GREAT last night

Glad you made it through surgery and the gallbladder is gone! Keep moving to get the gas out more quickly.

The other advice I have, I'm not sure applies to everyone, but you still might want to avoid foods that triggered an attack for a while. I had mine out five years ago and for the first three of them anything super fatty gave me diarrhea like crazy. I still can't handle a lot of fat in my diet but the diarrhea stopped.

I'm glad it's out! I, too, felt so much better that the surgery discomfort was nothing! I was a lucky one who was able to eat anything afterwards with no problem.

Mine came out 6 months post DS. Other than wearing stretchy pants for a few days and being careful when I bent over, I was fine. In fact, it was one of my easiest surgeries EVER.

I didn’t worry about my diet, didn’t adjust my fat intake either. Never had diarrhea as a result. In fact, I ended up with brick butt due to lack of food/fat for 24 hours (presurgery/during/short post op while still in day surgery), and taking pain meds for about 6 hours, and an antibiotic. My surgeon’s office told me to limit fat, I ignored them.

Glad that went relatively smoothly for you. I just wore sweats, or loose dresses (I have a zillion dresses) and drains can just hang while concealed, and no waist band.

Thanks all! Today was great. Walked around a LOT. Went to the mall with my mom to be sure I was up and moving plenty. All the gases are definitely finding their way to my shoulders but plenty are left in my tummy

And I have yet to really poop since surgery. I was a 3x/day person before the DS and I’m 2-3//day now. So going a day without is just uncomfortable as I feel full of poo.

Best advice I got was to wear maternity pants. OMG they are perfect for this. Should have thought of this for the DS. They give enough support that when I bend over it holds stuff in rather than letting my skin hang and cause extra pulling sensation, but there is no waist band pressure.

My husband is graduating college tomorrow and I was a little nervous as to how I’d feel— but I’m thinking It’s going to be great. I’ll poop on a jersey knit dress and enjoy every minute of this celebration

It’s a great week!
