Enhanced Malabsorbtion and No Carbs

I also like upbeat music for motivation to exercise but I'm finding listening to audio books sometimes works. I check them out from my library through something called overdrive and can listen on my netbook or (in theory, haven't tried yet) my phone. I find it has to be nonfiction and interesting enough I am entertained but not so fascinating it matters if I miss a word or two. or something; still experimenting.

so now you are getting stronger but have a sweaty hernia?

It's official. My hernia hates compression. I thought it would feel better... And actually it felt fine while I was wearing the garment. Started hurting like hell when I took it off! I will have to do some research on this.

I’m sorry. And short of wearing a binder 24/7, it’s gonna hurt.

Have never tried podcasts. What's your favorite? I guess I could do audiobooks too. Another thing I have never done.

I have a player loaded with very uptempo music I use for exercising. It's an all in one so no wires to get tangled up in and it stays on my head. Music seems to take my mind off the misery of working out and I can go forever. I don't do nearly as well without it. Put Despacito on the player and I can run to Seattle. I have TV in my exercise room too.

Just learning how to do the climber. Took me 3 sessions to get in 10 minutes yesterday. Pitiful. But it may be just what I need because today my arms and my ass muscles hurt. I doubt I will be able to do 10 minutes straight on it today either. But I will split it up. Maybe 10 min on the climber, 40 on the rower and an hour on the treadmill. Plus walking the dogs a few miles and all my normal activities.

I like the machines that make your whole body miserable at the same time. Makes me feel efficient. I am clumsy and not very coordinated. This stuff does not come naturally to me. The sweat suit still stinks. I am going to try it on and just get used to smelling like tires.

Ok, I need some guidance on what you like. I'm a news junkie, but I like good stories too. I like the pop-culture ones also, so let me know what you like.

The one thing about podcasts vs. music, is music has a beat and podcasts don't, so if you use the beat to keep your pace, that wont work, on the other hand, you get lost in the content. I also find watching movies on my iPad works when I'm on a machine. You know though, to be honest, I used to bust my A** and so hard machines and take spining classes and really get my heart pounding.

But in the end, I found walking 5 miles for 90 min to a good book or podcast I looked forward to a lot more than a stair master, so I changed my work out and I'm so much happier.

Let me know what you want from a Podcast and I will suggest a few. News magazines, fiction, Popculture, etc.

In the meantime, take a look at these links

thank you for sharing those links; it kind of kills me there is more good stuff to listen to than I can possibly keep up on. same with books, more than I can read.

first world problem!

Yeah, books...tell me about that. I have 3309 sitting at Amazon that are mine, thru my kindle. Except for 2-3, all have been free or free to read thru my subscription to Kindle Unlimited. My Kindle library far exceeds what I would probably EVER read in the rest of my life.

I actually love listening to podcasts (and books for that matter, I worked for Audible). It makes my walks so much more fun. If you want a really good listen, it;s only 10 episodes, but this is the best thing I've ever listened too. I binged listened to it. I just kept on walking. I htink I walked 15 miles in day because I could not stop listening. I was very sore the next day. But skinner.

There is a reason it's has 7000 five star reviews.

Thanks! I am planning on listening to Caliphate today! It's hard to tell you what I want because I have never listened to podcasts other than a few TEDtalks.

It's Sunday at last! The eve of cheat day! And I would be a total liar if I said I was not excited. Pizza for Labor Day! Yum! Going to the store later today and the plan is to get ice cream, chocolate, and some Cheetos. Not the cheap looks like Cheetos either, the real thing. I have been jonesing to try a new ice cream. Thrifty makes it. Milk Chocolate Malted Milk Ball. After all I need to be prepared for midnight. 24 hours is not long and I will try to work in a cheeseburger and fries too. A visit to Baskin Robbins would be great too! I plan to eat NOTHING even remotely healthy for a whole day. No exercise either.

Generally speaking I have been very good on this diet. Started around June 10th and the only cheating I have done was putting some fake Bailey's in my coffee maybe 3 times. I am sick of meat, green beans, broccoli, and salad. Low carbing is a budget buster too. Hopefully a cheat day will motivate me to continue. Time off for good behavior and all that... Low carb is hard work mostly because you have to cook all the freaking time. And if you cook there are more dishes to do and you have to clean the kitchen constantly. Yes, I am lazy! And that means all those lovely free buffets the casino send me go to waste. Not because there isn't something there I can eat. There is. But I tend to leave unhappy because I can't eat the things I WANT to eat. It's my nature to always want the things I can't have.

I don't feel guilty about this cheat day either. Not at all. There won't be another one till November 18th for Jeff's birthday. Then we are loaded with holidays for a while. Hanukkah(probably just the first day), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and then my birthday. It will all be great till after my birthday then it's the long slog till Memorial Day. I will have to have something small and chocolate for Valentine's Day too.

I hope you like it. when I eat healthy for a long period of time, junk food doesn't taste as good as expected. the first time I ate cheetos after surgery I was all

Not possible for me. I have tried for years to tell myself kale tastes better than chocolate. All I did was convince myself that I am a liar. And I still hate kale.

Then they told me about this runners high that would make me LOVE running. That's a lie too!

1 hour to cheat day!!!

it's not a lie if they said it exists or they felt it - I've felt very good from exercise but it's been a long time.
chocolate is a different category but I had a ripe, perfect pluot from the farmer's market saturday and it was better than pastry. it just was.

Have you watched this Ted Talk -

It's a very funny 7 mins.

Anyway, let me know what you like.

Lol.....I could not agree more, thought I had a ripe peach is way better than Kale.

I's OK to cheat, just not that much. :) I still think Fritos might be the 7th wonder of the world. As my sister-in-law said, they cut out your tummy, they did not give you a lobotomy.

You will get there. :)
