I’m going to try and remember once I get past this surgery. I’ve put it on my calendar to order some pills then.

Cheat day is shaping up nicely... I am feeling guilty already. I did something I am way too cheap to do. I put in an order at Whole Foods. I actually call it whole paycheck. And I never shop there. But it's cheat day. Some online friends told me these damn chips are better than sex, so I ordered them. 2 bags of Pastrami on Rye, 2 bags of Cuban Press Sandwich, and 2 bags of Italian Hoagie. I got a small jar of honey, some Illy coffee that was on sale, everything bagel sprinkles, and a keto brownie mix I have been wanting to try. 1 carb per brownie. Had to spend more than $35 to get free delivery. And that is supposed to be tonight between 6 and 8 PM. I can rationalize this easily. I KNOW I would have spent a lot more if I had gone to the store and shopped myself. And there is no other place that sells those chips. So, maybe it is on the way. Fingers crossed.

Chili dogs are still on the cheat day menu. And lots of chips.

OK, this is entirely too easy. I am sitting here watching the delivery guy, Steve, BTW, make his way towards my house. I am easily entertained. He is only a few minutes away.

I got a coupon for free delivery on Mod pizza, which would otherwise be way too expensive. it came "door dash" and I was thrilled to watch it coming towards me on the map.

simple pleasures!

Wow. What a great time to be old. Someone will bring you anything you want. You can call a car and go anywhere you want. Pretty darn amazing. Steve and the groceries arrived early. What fun to bring the bags in and unpack them. I am much more impressed than Jeff. Probably because he grew up in NYC where you could get anything delivered. And anything you wanted was just down the street.

My childhood was a lot different. For the first 14 years of my life I lived in suburban/rural Indianapolis. There was no place in walking or biking distance to even buy anything. We had delivery pizza one time. One. Everything was a car trip away and delivery was unheard of. I saved my allowance because I had no where to spend it! So I have a great appreciation for living where everything is always available.

I used to call Whole Foods the same but over the past couple years they’ve become extremely competitive with places like Safeway and Albertsons. I like the quality of the foods better and consider their meats top-notch. But, it’s easy to go crazy with all,the neat things they have.

I am super curious about these chips!

Saturday is cheat day. And I will let you know about the chips. Until then, they languish alone and unopened in the pantry. I did taste the everything bagel sprinkles and I can see why people really like them.

I like the bagel seasoning on cream cream cheese (esp. great for fat fasting) and it's also lovely on celery or cucumber with cream cheese. :)

Cheat day is history. Next taste of food freedom is the 4th of July. Or whatever day we choose close to it. Sometimes it makes no sense to celebrate on the holiday because Las Vegas will be full and there will be lines everywhere. We live here and we can go out any time. Plus, dogs. On the 4th we will always be at home with them because of the relentless fireworks. It's like a war zone. Good news, the buffets are starting to open up again so maybe we will do that for our dinner.

Dinner was lovely. And free. We ate out on comps at Emerald Island. I had filet mignon and shrimp with loaded baked potato soup and au gratin potatoes. Jeff had a teriyaki strip steak, with the same soup and potatoes. Black Forest cake for dessert. We took the damn green veggies home and gave them to the dogs with their dinner. They also got the bacon and 1 bite each of my filet.

The chili dogs were divine and so was the ice cream from Baskin Robbins. I managed to eat 6 of them spread out over the 24 hours and the dogs got the last 2. We had a loaf of bread from Great Harvest. Jeff had most of that and the dogs got the rest.

The chips were a disappointment. Especially since they were described as better than sex. They were good. But not that good. I thought the Italian Hoagie flavor was the best. Jeff agrees with me they were good but not outstanding. So now we have a lot of leftover chips. The dogs can't have them because they are too salty. I guess we will save them for the 4th. Maybe I can give away the unopened bags to a neighbor. We have a friend flying in from Wisconsin this afternoon and we will give her a care package for her hotel room. A 6 pack of soda and a bag of chips.

So back to the plan. The first few days are hard but then it becomes habit again.
