Still looking - my legs are getting stronger - not as tired after walking, and I needed more physical activity - small silver lining. I'm getting so scared this is not going to end well - or at all.

Someone called me at about 8 PM to say she was sure she saw Loki LAST night in the Rose Garden - across the busy street to the north of our block. Charles, my son and I immediately went over there, but the Rose Garden is locked at sunset - I walked around it with a flashlight calling and calling him and trying to catch a glint off of his eyes, while shaking his treat box and a cat toy with a bell on it that he loves - but nothing. I walked past the same place in the park yesterday, but I didn't see him.

I'm glad there's been another sighting, but am sorry you have yet to be reunited. I know you must be so worried. Lâche pas la patate, as they say in New Orleans. May today bring you together.

Yea im glad there has been another sighting. Pets are Just like kids they do stuff to have us crazy worried.

he is out there somewhere - but not necessarily where people think they saw him. when I have heard of people getting their cats back after this long they were IN someone's basement or garage or something.

still hoping for good news!

Some horrible person contacted me on Craigslist saying they had my cat - it was a fake.

One more possible sighting on the block south of us, but there are three black and grey tabbies on that block, so I'm not sure if they are seeing Loki, or a Loki-like (I have to try to laugh about it). People are still looking, I think.

In the meantime, we just had our day-after-Thanksgiving dinner, and we're NOT going to go camping for four days tomorrow as planned, as it is going to be raining here in the Bay area for the next several day - so I can keep looking. It is going to be cold and wet outside ... I hope that drives him home.

@DianaCox I know you have put it out on your local yahoo group and on Craigslist but is there a local area FB group for your neighborhood/county? I know we have three for our area and lost pets are listed there. Also post him as missing on your FB page for friends in the area to share.

Red rover, red rover! Aw, Diana. I'm so sorry both that Loki remains outside and that Craigslist monster would pull your heartstrings like that (WTF?!).

I hope Loki tires of his Rumspringa and comes home today.

@JackieOnLine - those links are awesome information. Thank you for posting them, I just read them. Great tips- esp about fearful cats and behavior. When Lil'B got out, a skittish cat, she was likely in our own yard or super-nearby, but we never knew.. I think it was 3-4 days later, during a drizzly night when we left the screen door bottom open, and she hopped through and was greeted happily by our dog (her buddy.)

Todd's cat Crow escaped and was gone more than a month, it turned out she was living under the shed IN the backyard 800' from the back door (he figured this out by coming upon all her waste under there later.) He had given her up for dead, until she showed up at the back door meowing one night..

Diana, don't give up searching in every hidey-hole!

:( Came here and read the whole thread hoping there was good news. Well, there IS the good news that people keep seeing him, bad news that he is not home.

I had a feral cat. I got her as a kitten and her mum wasn't feral. However, once she reached a year old she became a killing machine. Killing squirrels and birds twice her size. Wasn't long after that, that she took off. For TWO YEARS, then one day she came home for 2 weeks, then left again. I haven't seen her since but Chloe was a feral spirit and I miss her every single day.

Yanks are lucky that cats can be indoor cats. Here in the UK there are no air conditioners OR screens on windows. Bad combo!

Im trying to think of things you could do to lure him home. What about a tin of tuna outside with the door cracked open? My heart breaks for you! Being a boy (even if he is fixed) means he likes to roam checking out the ladies. Swingin critters in both hands for Loki to return home very soon! He's had enough adventure to brag about.

All the advice is to NOT put food out, because it will attract other cats and possums/raccoons that are a danger to him or would scare him away. And we sure can't leave a door open with the other two indoor cats. I made flyers and taped them to every house for blocks around here. It has been raining for 6 days, with no end in sight, but it is tapering off a bit, so I will probably go out and put flyers around the next ring of homes away from our house. At least it means I'll get some exercise ...
