Anyone ever have a mosquito bite that's done this? I have 5 of these on my legs from a party last night and I've never seen this happen before. The bite I got on my neck didn't do this, and the only thing I can think of is that it had to do with the fact that I sprayed bug spray all over my legs AFTER I realized I was getting eaten alive? Wtf?
Oh, and I have been thinking that I've developed an allergy since they blow up immediately with a misshapen welt and get super tingly & burny.

Weird thing is that I didn't scratch at all, so it's definitely not a bruise from that o_O
No. I really DO over-respond...and have ended up in an ER on more than one occasion. But my response has been more pink-red than purple and more symmetrical. And WAAAAY more swollen.

Not seen anything like that. I get huge welts from them anymore. I get eaten up anytime I am outside. My husband and I both used to smoke, but not inside the home. Anytime we would go out to smoke I would get 3-7 bites and he would get none.

ETA: I don't think that's a mosquito bite. I would keep an eye on it.

I agree that it looks NOTHING like a mosquito bite should look. If I didn't feel & see the original bites right after they happened I would never think that's what they were. Since I was a kid, my mother always told me I had "sweet blood" and that's why the mosquitoes always attacked me most of all. As I got older, I read they're attracted to sweat and CO2, so I figured it was because I was a big, sweaty, out of breath oaf. Now, I can't even begin to guess!
