Airline Seats: Why So Small (and will I fit)?

So... I just got back (that's why I've not posted here for a bit). I flew first class on my way up because I got lucky and got an upgrade, but I flew economy on the flight back. Not only did the seatbelt fit but I fit in the seat with NO issues and I didn't slop over into the next seat. Go figure! Another NSV :)

Oh yes! I hit it right when everything was thawing out so it was a slushy mess but it was still wonderful. We went up to Chena Hot Springs one evening and soaked in the outdoors rock pool under the stars. We also did a lot of other touristy stuff - turns out my friend Jessi had been living up there a year and had done NONE of the tourist stuff except for Santa's House so it was great fun for us both. Can't wait to go up there again... there's a possibility I might be going up there periodically for temporary work which would be a great opportunity to travel and get paid for it :)

For future trips, if you have the chance.. I recommend Southwest. They will give you a free second seat if you need it the day of.. Or refund if you purchase the extra one in advance.

As a size 22/24 seatbelt extenders were hit or miss for me. I have wide hips and large thighs...The flight attendant commented that the older planes had more seatbelt length. I remember a trip out to Colorado where I needed an extended on the way out (not even close) but the way back I had tons of extra belt. Both on fronteir. The flight attendednts are usually really nice about it but it is embarrassing.

You won't ever be needing one of those again, and very soon.
