Slow Release Calcium worked for me, too!

A few months ago, Clematis (I believe) posted that her PTH dropped from 31 to 19 by adding some Citracal slow-release calcium into the mix. I was skeptical because it is mostly carbonate, but I had high PTH and my calcium was dropping so I was getting nervous and thought I'd give it a try.

Well, 2 months after adding one SR calcium tablet (600 mg) to my mix I report the following:

Old PTH 94. New PTH 61
Old Calcium 8.7. New calcium 9.3

I also just had a 24 kidney stone panel. All the number improved, but I did add Urocit to the mix so that most likely accounts for that.

According to Citracal, Slow release calcium is 85% carbonate, 15% citrate, and takes about 8 hours to absorb. I can only speculate on why it seems to work for Clematis and me, but numbers don't lie. I'll confirm when I get my next labs that it's not an anomaly.

Anyway, very pleased. It's especially nice that you can take them with other supplements.

Best to all,

Mark

That's great news! Just goes to show that what works for one won't work for all and when what you are doing doesn't work...do something different!

Marquis Mark where do you buy the SR calcium? I've also struggled with PTH (the only lab that has given me any problems for 12 years) so if my next report isn't better I might give it a try.

Here it is...

Walgreens also has a generic version...

Hope it works for you, too!
