Hey Y'all,
It's been a while since I've been on here. I posted some months ago concerning my voice changing and not being able to sing in my upper register like I did before surgery. My voice hasn't gotten any better. It's actually gotten a little worse. I finally went to my doctor and I'll share his findings for those who were interested. Sorry, I don't know how to find the old post.
Back in 2009 my family doctor found a goiter on my thyroid. I had an ultrasound performed and it was relatively small 1.1cm. In May of 2016 I had another one performed since it had been several years. It measured 1.2cm. My doctor said it was very little growth so he advised me to leave it alone for now. May of 2017, I had another one performed and it's now measuring 2.6cm. I can't believe it's grown that much in 1 years time. He thinks that's what's causing problems with my voice. Occasionally, I can feel food get hung in my throat on one side. It's really weird but it reminds me of that feeling I had when I had the lapband and food just kind of sat there except its passes after 2-3 seconds. He wants to do a biopsy to see if it's cancerous or benign like a build up of fatty tissue or something similar.
Anyway, I'm about 10 pounds from goal and I'm coming up on my anniversary date. I'm slightly disappointed but I didn't start working out until recently so that's my fault. I struggle with constant hunger and that's annoying as well but it is what it is.
