Some people who are born into or chose to adopt such attitudes can be educated, but most of them cannot, or require far more effort than I'm willing to invest. When they repeatedly are led to the truth, but then repeatedly ignore it, and demonstrate that they are proud of their warped, rigid and inflexible thinking, and especially when they acknowledge that they recognize that it is wrong but refuse to change, I need to walk away.
Yes, I am intolerant of intolerance. Yes, I refuse to accept people as they are, who refuse to accept the truth as it is. Yes, I refuse to change my view of people who won't change their views. I can live with that inherent contradiction.
