OldBroad's and my father's 85th birthday

I hope these don't show up gigantic, but I know they will. All four of us siblings together with Dad, whom we almost lost a couple of months ago to what was almost without a doubt stage 4 lung cancer, but turned out to be something else - and he has bounced back pretty damned well.

Our poor brother Ian is so ill all the time - he is 6' and weighs about 130 lbs and can't eat - he lives on Boost. I forced some Unjury protein chicken soup in him, but he isn't much into self-care, especially when he is nauseated and in gastric pain all the time. The doctors still can't figure out what it is.

It may not escape your attention that my daughter and her b/f look more like brother and sister than she and her 100% bio brother do:

Maybe a bit weirder is how much my son and my brother look alike:

And if there's room - my husband, his daughter, and our granddaughter (overtired and hungry):

I know - HIS daughter and my son look more like brother and sister, and more like my side of the family, right?

How recent are these pictures? I believe your sister is back in Virginia. How about your brothers? Do you get to see them often? That can be a cursing and a blessing sometimes as the absence can make the heart grow fonder concept can have some merits at time.

My brother and his wife moved back here from Florida after 25 years (she is from FL but her parents are gone) and it is really nice to have him around. He has been helpful in handyman regard since I can't do much in that regard since surgery.

Events when all the adult "kids" can get together are special, especially with the parents. How wonderful that you got real pictures (as opposed the the janky pics like my family ends up with on our phone cameras) of your great clan.

And huge pictures are good, especially since we all know about your dental work, and needed to see the great results up close in great detail (kidding of course, the pics show up sized fine).

Posted same day - Rachael flew in on Saturday and surprised Dad - my brothers drove up from Los Angeles Saturday evening, stayed with us, and Dad got his surprise at the restaurant. They had to leave right after the party to get back to LA. Rachael is here for another few days.
