Okay, a day and a half early, but who's counting? :-D

I'm alive and well, could stand to lose 20 pounds, have a thus-far-intractable vitamin D deficiency, developed osteoporosis that's not bad YET but am working on treating with supplements, medication and a little bit of weight bearing exercise. Could be more fanatical about all three areas, but the Dexa results are creeping upward, so it could be worse.

My hair loss is permanent. Preops/newbies, yours won't be :).

Y'all have read these same words from me many times: I'd be dead without the DS, so any problem I have today pales in light of that sure knowledge. I have life and health, a good husband, good friends. I was able to go back to school, work and do lots of things. Most wonderful is that I have FINALLY escaped New Jersey--well, almost; the business details of house sale aren't done yet--and gotten back to my beloved Montana!!! This is especially precious because the docs told me that if my heart and lung issues did not resolve, I could never again even visit a high altitude location, much less live here. It's all resolved and it's AWESOME!

I wish Dr. Peters were still alive to celebrate with me.

Congrats EN for making the most of your DS, enjoying your life and for finally making the move to Montana!! Happy Surgiversary!

With 2016 around the corner, I'm happy you'll be starting the new year in Montana. Hope all goes well with the niggling details of the house sale. And of course, all your victories of the DS has made your dream come true. It's done so for so many of us.

Congrats! When do you think you will have DH settled in MT with you? Is he planning on ranching?

Congrats on your 9 years and doing well.

As far as your Vitamin D deficiency have you tried an injection? On August 17th the day before my revision to extend my CC and AL, Dr gave me an injection of vitamin D as he wanted to boost me for the upcoming stress. My D was around 35 at that time me and I had been taking 200k IU daily for the previous two years. At my next draw a month Later my D was at 67 and my last draw it was greater than 98 (don't know how high) so I have backed down tob150k IU most days and 100 for others.

The D injection really worked for me so if you haven't tried (probably have) it might be worth a shot... Pun intended. :D

@Elizabeth N. , I am thrilled for you. This surgery is life changing and I bet when you were a newbie making the decision you never dreamed you would be able to move home to Montana.

Congratulations! and thank you for all you do to give back.

Happy surgiversary EN!!!

I just think it is awesome that you are doing what you thought you would never be able to do...not only visit MT but actually live there. How are you and Zoe settling in?

Congratulations on 9 successful DS years and wishing you many more! And special congrats on the move to your beloved Montana.

I'm so glad to hear your results. I hope to have long term success even remotely similar to yours!
