I Love, Love, Love caller ID. Years ago, my usually rational husband made a donation to a political party. And since political organizations are exempt from no-call registries, I have come up with the perfect solution.

I pick up the phone and sing as loud as I can and as off key as I can. Aging as made the off key part easy. My song of choice? None other than "On Top of Spaghetti All Covered in Cheese". I only wish I had thought of this years ago.

I miss having a landline because it's frequently not very satisfying to have a cell to cell conversation. "what?, wait, what? you were fading in and out"

thanks for the earworm, K9 :protest emoticon:

I keep getting fake calls from numbers that are the same area code and prefix. Weird. Charles' number and my daughter's number start the same way, so I always look. Sometimes, they come up as "Scam Likely."

I get these types of calls too. I don’t answer and then I block the number.

Our phone company allows 12 blocked numbers for a base fee. More blocked numbers raises our bill. I'm cheap. Besides, until I find some new hobbies or get involved in some volunteer work, the glow of my initial retirement time has faded. It's a minor source of fun.
