So I posted last week and said I was going to have my iron levels tested this week when I had my calcium levels checked before starting the patches.
My iron results are interesting to me...my total iron decreased pretty significantly but my ferritin came up a fair amount. Still a lot lower than I want it, but I would have thought with my total iron tanking that my ferritin at the very least would have stayed where it was.
On the other hand, I'm very pleased to see how much my Vit D came up. I'm going to stop taking the extra D every day.
I just had a few things run and will have a full set next month when I'll be 3 months out.

Test Reference Range 10/22/2014 1/20/2015
Iron, serum Total 35-155 91 36
Iron Saturation 15-55 not run 14
Ferritin 15-150 20 48
Hemoglobin 11.1-15.9 13.7 13.2
Hematocrit 34.0-46.6 41.1 40.5
Calcium, serum 8.7-10.2 9.6 9.5
PTH, Intact 15-65 39 19
Prealbumin 20-40 21 20
Vitamin D, hydroxy 30-100 23.9 104

Yeah...I'm very pleased with it...but I'm only 2 months out! lol
Going to start the patches tomorrow.
And going to work on finding a hematologist who will give me an iron infusion.

So...I'm debating that since my D has gotten high now whether I should stop the oral dry D daily altogether and see if just the patches keep it up...or maybe just drop down to every other day in addition to the patches.

Thoughts?

@star0210 since your PTH and Vit D OH are great, I would try just the patches and test in 3 months, just in case you see it trend downwards to catch it and let us know how you are doing.

That's what I'm going to do...and I sure hope they work because my constipation issues have been SOOOO much better since I stopped taking the calcium pills.
