I have been known to use what I call the "patented EN glare," something I learned from reading Miss Manners. Works like a charm most of the time, except on the totally clueless.

I like what Bugger said but I would have trouble saying that myself. I might could modify it to just "wow, is that what you said" and then nothing more.
