Energy 6 months post-op?

My husband and I are planning a trip for our 30-year anniversary ("It was thirty years ago today!") and I'm planning on DS surgery in December. For those of you post-op, how much were you able to do six months out? Could you have gone on a domestic car trip comfortably? How about an overseas air trip?

Yes. i could have done all of that.

You'll be fine. I went to Europe 9 months out without incident, DS wise. I saved my morning poop for when I got off the plane simply because post DS I tend to sit on the toilet for 10-15 minutes and the rest of the business class passengers would have been kicking in the door. I tend to eat every 2-3 hours but Europeans don't snack nor do they eat on the street. I used to stash something from breakfast in my purse for midmorning, and again hide something from lunch. (They do not do doggie bags, either, so carry a ziplock in your purse and be sneaky.)

All of the above! And I did do a 3 week trip to Spain right around 6 months out.

Go and enjoy yourselves. Just don't buy a wardrobe more than a week or so ahead of time.
