Omicron seems to be even more contagious/easily spread. I have been busy researching masks and I decided it’s time to move on to something better than just a simple cloth mask. I bought 2 N98 equivalents from Castlegrade. They are silicon and actually fit your face. They have 4 layer electrostatically charged filters that can be reused. They sort of make you look like Miss Piggy.

Now we have choices and better masks are available without putting healthcare workers at risk. What are you doing to up your mask game?

I've ordered three layer masks that haven't arrived yet. Not as good as N98 but probably superior to the cloth masks I've been using, which I made myself. And, if the CDC recommends a second booster, I'll get it. I am so very tired of this pandemic!

just today I started wearing an N95 while grocery shopping again, but remain in the old paper, surgical masks at work so far.

I caught covid at work the last time and I am afraid it's going to happen again.

for awhile now I've realized that I pull my mask down without realizing it.

I have done it so much because I can't otherwise get through to most of my patients and now I have this terrible habbit.

 really need to do better.

We’ve been using N95s. He’s had them here in the garage for projects.

A word, from the 3M guy, to the wise:

•3M 8200s have longer straps and don’t need to be pre-stretched.
•3M 8210s need to have their elastic stretched, carefully and not near where they attach to the mask, or they break.
.

My ‘real’ masks arrived. I am now Miss Piggy and Jeff is Mr Piggy. But they fit and there is a big difference. I can tell I am breathing through the mask instead of around it. Jeff says his glasses don’t fog up. I am pretty sure we are a whole lot safer in situations where there are a lot of people in close proximity. Best guess, I think they will be hot in the summer but all masks are uncomfortable in 100 degrees plus. So we are giving them a try.
