Got a Google play gift card and I'm not a big game player. I have a few with a balance of $21.00+/- and now another $25.00.

So if I buy a book:
  1. Does it go to my tablet and stay there?
  2. How does it use data? By the use or by the storage (if it stays on my tablet)?
  3. Is it like using an e-reader such as Nook or Kindle?

I looked at Google and even after reading their instructions and FAQ, I still have no clue what I'm doing.

I sold my Kindle back to Amazon because I didn't use it much. Then I got my tablet and realized I could read books on it as well as the other uses.

I'll admit I'm technically challenged. Any advice would be helpful if you use little words.

It's just like using a Kindle book on their e-reader or using Kindle app on iPad, etc. You download the Google Play Books and Comics App to your tablet. Then download a book when you are on WiFi so no data usage. (Never try to download it while on cell coverage if your device is cell enabled like a phone. That uses too much data.) It doesnt use data to read the book. It stays on your tablet until you delete it. (And I delete them when done as my iPad mini doesn't have much storage space.) When you delete them, it just removes it from your device -- it always stays in the cloud for you to download again if you want to.

I love my Kindle. I know I could read ebooks on my iPad but it chewed thru my battery life. My kindle only needs charging once a week. I have almost 3000 books on the cloud. All but 2-3 are freebies.

If Google works the same way, all books you buy (or get free) are yours whether they are on the cloud or your tablet.
