I'm not having surgery with him so we really did not discuss that specifically. He did say that a surgeon should be able to get my stomach "reasonably flat."

Oh ok. Hard decision to make good luck. My choice was easy I wouldn't let anyone here in az touch me. Lol

Personally, I did not even ask about "percentage flatness". I wanted the hernia repaired and a functional abdominal wall. I needed to be reasonably close to home for family reasons. The hernia specialist did what he was supposed to do. It's not beautiful, but my organs are again protected and there is no 'hernia baby' protruding.

I think you're getting clouded by extraneous information and 'fluff'. Think about if the physician closer to your home can adequately perform the surgery. She would not attempt to do so in a facility that is unable to accommodate post-operative medical and nursing needs - to knowingly do so would open her to all sorts of malpractice liability.

Just my $0.02. That and a couple of bucks can get you a cup of coffee.

lol @Jbandmmomma and your hernia baby. I can't wait to get rid out mines. UGGGH.

i never even thought to ask about a percent. I have always had a super flat stomach since the subpar repair of my first hernia in 2001. Not until this hernia wss it not super flat so I just assumed it would be able to be fixed back to flat. uggghhhh. I mean not being able to breath for awhile could help me loose weight. JK Just being a smart azz.

@Settledownnow I surely don't blame you for turning down the coma for a couple of days. Go into a coma for a flat stomach? umm no thanks. Going under anesthesia is scary itself but be under for days? Not unless it's for something life saving.
