A New Chapter: My Path to a Healthier Me

Hello all!

My name is Lacie. I’m 40 years old, live in Utah, and weigh the most I ever have in my life. My BMI is in the 50 range somewhere, and something has got to change. I am that something! I need to advocate for myself and do what’s best for me. My plan is to get a DS here in the near future to begin my new chapter and use the tool to make better choices all the way around.
Right now, I think I’m just waiting on insurance approval. While I wait, I’m doing more reading, more research, and trying to find all the best info that will help me succeed.

You have two options in Utah. For a traditional DS, you need to go to Rocky Mountain Bariatrics https://utahbariatrics.com/
However, if you are considering the SADI, there is also Bariatric Medicine Institute where they only do the SADI but unfortunately call it the DS. They are good at the SADI but the two are are like apples and oranges, both are fruit and grow on trees but they aren’t the same. Just be aware of the difference and make sure you get the one YOU WANT AND CAN LIVE WITH.

Thank you! I have decided that I’ll be getting the traditional DS through Rocky Mountain. I feel like it’s the best choice for me.
