I Am Scheduled: Updated

In my room. Thankfully Dr K was able to do the hernia repair with mesh laproscopically rather than the huge incision the full reconstruction would have required. The upper abdomen was good so he felt that it was best to leave that area alone and just address the lower problem area. Hopefully this ends the hernias, at least for a while and alleviates that nasty symptoms the hernia was causing. Thanks for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes.

I will spend the night and go back to hotel tomorrow.

Yay! That's wonderful news, Scott! I'd want to get back to your nice hotel room tool.

Now heal and NO more surgeries!

Oh Scott honey, in your Vitamin D related world. . . . and I don't mean the one you get from the sun! I hope you are having a good nite and resting with Dilaudid or Demerol. Heal and rest.

Man I am hurting with this one. I was getting oral dilaudid as I am just an overnight but Do okayed some IV dilaudid. Hopefully that helps. He also gave me a binder that I absolutely hate because the edge is putting a lot of pressure at the top of pubic bone just below abdomen so the nurse loosened it a little for me and that took off some of that pressure. In return for drugs Dr k,said I have to walk so we shall try soon. Standing up and two steps to commode damn near made me pass out earlier so hopefully after the good dilaudid I will be a little looser.

I guess the mesh is making this one worse but it is by far the most pain I have ever had after a surgery. Oh well in the words of my old football coach, shake it off and take a lap.

I am passing and shitting already so that is good.

oh man Scott - don't try to shake it off and take a lap! take it easy and feel better. I hope things are better this morning.
Believe me sweets, I did or am I going to be doing any laps.

Dr k gave ne IV dilaudid last night and it is helping but I am still incredibly sore. I popped last night about 7 but then couldn't get any gas out after that until about 3am . I popped again and got a bunch of gas so that helped a lot as all that gas on top of the very raw gut was a double whammy. Hopeful another day and night in the hospital will make a big improvement because right now I couldn't make the walk to my hotel room or be able to get in and out of bed.

Sorry to be so whiney. This one hurt is ten times more painful than any other gut lap surgery I have had including the original ds.

I hate hearing how painful this is for you. But, am glad it's in the rearview mirror now. As others said, rest, drugs, rest, repeat. Hope the healing is quick and you're feeling much improved soon!
