My first ambulance ride! (Graphic)

Had a rough day Friday. Diarrhea and dry heaves (I didn't KNOW the human body could make that kind of noise) from about 1:00 am.

Eventually, like 11:00 am, I needed to catch my breath going from the couch to the bathroom...not good for COPD people. So, I called my sister to help, we got a ditty bag ready for the Emergency Department and we dialed 911...for me! New experience!

Six hours later, I went home.

Seems I may have some kind infection, somewhere. Temp was 2° above my normal. Labs that were not in range were damned close, except for potassium...but after the bathroom episodes, that's not unusual. So they gave me potassium.

The CT scan showed that the stent that was just placed is in the right place and most of the stones are now gravel. One big one left. C&S from the urinalysis will be back late Monday morning.

My Stone Specialist Uro (I have multiple uros) called this morning, when I described the discomfort, he decided the stent should probably be removed sooner rather than later. (Which is what I told him on Wednesday, but he's young.) As of Wednesday, the earliest time the doctor and tbe OR were available was the 23rd. As of this morning, he wants me in sooner. (Because if it is a UTI, the stent could be a culprit and because it is uncomfortable.)

He's deciding whether he wants to redo an ESWL, because the first one got almost everything...OR since the remaining stone survived the first ESWL, do a ureteroscopy, and make that stone the major target.

Don't get stones. Get stoned, in a non-biblical sense, instead!

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. You are a MESS, girl. Gotta get that straightened out ASAP. "Sooner" works... what is his definition of that? Monday? One Grape Nut size stone makes me suicidal so I don;t know how you've survived passing a quarry.

What's with "(Graphic)"? I didn;t see anything graphic in your post. I was kinda hoping for cartoons, like in a graphic novel. Spiky Bugger would be a great superhero.

Well, dry heaves kinda sets me off with sympathy responses.

No no no no no no no! You must get better and stay that way for a long, long time. Also, you must find a PCP who manages that holisitic "get well" goal with excellence. Hang in there!

Dang lady! Enough already. I had one small stone and they went in to get it, but the uro ended up pushing it into the kidney so I got a stint. I can't imagine having all of these like you. You are much tougher than me.

Heal lady! Heal!

Oh honey, just when you think it can't get worse - you add dry heaves and infection!?!

You really can't idle like this till the 23rd. This kind of shit just grinds you to a nub, and you need to BE BETTER.

Define "sooner" and it had better be asap. This is not something to mess around with, and hopefully your lttle sojourn to the ER get his attention. Is there a way he can get both the stent and the remaining stone out at the same time??

Sure seems like he should be able to do those both at once. I know I had the opposite all at once....went in to get stone but pushed it back into the kidney so he put in a stent. ..................so I don't know why the opposite couldn't be done.

shit, fire, fuzzy @Spiky Bugger WTH... you have been thru so much. ASAP sounds like now to me... 'specially if it is infected.
Please try and feel better - you definitely did the right thing going to the ER - as they say Keep Coming Back - they will eventually admit you and maybe get you fixed this time.

Yuck yuck and double yuck. Puking and dry heaving are the worst on the planet to me. Who do we all collectively need to bother to get you some help sooner?!
