Welcome!

Do you think your doctor will do all the labs you need done if you have the DS? You will need to take a lot of vitamins the rest of your life and you'll need frequent bloodwork the first year and then 1-2x a year to check that you aren't getting malnutrition. If he is so uncooperative now how will he be once you do things in a way he disapproves?

I will probably go to the walk-in clinic and get a doctor there to set it up for me if he refuses to help or if he isn't around. That's a huge problem too. He is away until August right now. Odds are good I'll have to go to the walk-in.

that's a shame.
and I apparently I'm wrong to assume anyone not in this country is getting good health care! :(

Hi Momzilla, I’m 41 yrs old and had a BMI around 40 when I had my bariatric surgery (DS) in Dec 2018 so we have some stats roughly in common. Like a lot of people say, I wish I had done it earlier. It was not an easy journey in the slightest but I do feel much better lighter. Good luck in your research!
