He is scheduled for surgery and there’s a major hurricane, impacting travel.

He is scheduled for surgery a couple of years later and there’s a pandemic, impacting travel.

We need to talk to @Hilary about this.

My vote? This is his last surgery. He has to be all better now.

Totally agree. As parent, I'll take some blame too. Pre-surgical natural disasters are our speciality. ;)

That said, we always make it to the church on time, despite the hazards, so hopefully that spells the ability for Chicago to Houston travel to occur mid-June.

This best be the last one for him!

DianaCox Can you explain why a cytokeine storm would be marked by high ferritin?

"This [cytokeine] storm, if it develops, becomes obvious a few days into the infection. But the sooner doctors catch on to it and treat it, the more likely the patient is to survive. Too late, and the storm may be beyond control, or may already have caused too much damage.

There is a relatively simple, rapid and easily available test that can detect whether a patient’s body has been taken over by a cytokine storm. It looks for high levels of a protein called ferritin."

Hard to explain, because it’s not really understood whether increases ferritin is a cause or effect.

Here’s some reading.

This is interesting too:
