Okay, I know Thanksgiving isn’t til Thursday but I’m still wishing everyone a good one.
We aren’t cooking turkey, we don’t like turkey. Normally we do ham but I’m tired of ham. So we are gonna do a Cornish Hen. All we need is one, cause we will split it. I’m still way too sensitive to cornbread so making my cornbread dressing is still not happening. But maybe some Stove Top stuffing? For sure Green Been Casserole and I’m a traditionalist when it comes to mine. I make my own cranberry sauce and I go the simple route there as well. I’m not against adding stuff, I just don‘t. But you sure as hell won’t see canned in my house. I also have fresh pumpkin frozen waiting to be turned into a pumpkin pie. I like to cook and bake esp from scratch. Gonna start making my own bread again. I made a cast iron apple pie using my best cast iron skillet. It’s the one I inherited from my Mother, who inherited it from my paternal grandmother who inherited it from her mother. So it’s well over 85 years old.

We spent yesterday pulling up more carpet. Another room is clean of carpet. That leaves two to go.

I weighed myself last week and was 135.2

so that makes sense given all the eating and alchohol consumption. as Liz always says, I "know what to do". - but it's not "clamping down" in a diet way - this is the opposite of what someone with Binge Eating Disorder needs to do. I need to RELAX and gently, kindly, help myself deal with stress in other ways. sigh.

I like to cook and bake esp from scratch. Gonna start making my own bread again. I made a cast iron apple pie using my best cast iron skillet. It’s the one I inherited from my Mother, who inherited it from my paternal grandmother who inherited it from her mother. So it’s well over 85 years old.

I love this! I wish I was both there and able, physically, to smell anything you will be making but especially pie.

I had one invite for the holiday but it came too late so going with my original plan to serve (and eat!) at the Salvation Army dinner in town. I did this back in 2019 (I think the most recent time it happened thanks to covid) and really enjoyed helping out and then eating all the traditional foods I wanted. stuffing! potatoes! pie! and nobody said "hey, didn't you already go through the line?" because you can have all you want.

as it should be. honestly? Binge Eating Disorder tells you you can NEVER have all you want, and it's just not true. knowing this is the essence of dealing with it.

As to your weight, you’re still doing good but yeah you need to clamp down before it gets out of control.

Had a busy week. We're more shorthanded than usual at work so most of the days were long. Holiday weeks are usually kind of a mess so expecting more of the same. I think I'm only working 4ish days this week though probably won't know for sure until Wednesday what the plan is for Thursday-Saturday. Got a Turkey from work Friday, gave it away. I like cooking the Thanksgiving turkey but most of it would just go to waste. I can't really do white meat any more, wife has always been a dark meat person, and the one kid we have left at home is indifferent at best to Turkey.. Anywho, see you all on the other side of the Holiday.

I know you’ll be glad to get to the holiday. And you’re doing good on your weight.

The measure was after a 2 1/2week trip, so I'm content... could have gone up but did not. I think the disruption to my daily routine helps when I'm away.
