My last protein number was normal at 6.9. This was averaging 110-120 gm pro daily. If I did not have the previous liver problems during my post-op complications, I could see waiting it out, but I do not think waiting is prudent given my history of multiple liver abscesses.Remember you are barely a year past surgery. Elevated liver numbers are almost a given the first year or so. If you need an occasional protein shake or even a daily one right now, don't fret. What was your last protein number on your lab work? That is what you need to pay attention to right now.
I can see not waiting it out. Just be aware that it could be normal. Me, I don't do shakes unless I am having a hard day getting protein in. Maybe go that route. At 6.9, you really don't want to change much.My last protein number was normal at 6.9. This was averaging 110-120 gm pro daily. 3 more lbs gone. My 6 month check up is in 5 days. I’m hoping to be under 160 on the doctors scale, fully dressed. Wish me luck.
Good for you!LLLW 67.0 kg (147.7 lbs)

Been a busy few weeks of travel for school and work. Pleasantly surprised to see the number on the scale was as low as it was when I weighed yesterday - I've got out of the daily weighing habit.

Oops, the scale is going in the wrong direction. I made some diet changes the past couple of weeks due to concern over my liver numbers. I stopped drinking protein drinks and I am concentrating on eating foods only. I read on a bodybuilding forum that those who drank/ate a lot of whey protein had elevated liver numbers and when they returned to eating high protein foods only (no shakes/bars) the numbers went back to normal. Who knows if there is anything to this, but I thought I would give it a try. It is not so easy to eat at least 100 gm of protein even at a year out. I have an appt to see a specialist in a few weeks.
Oh, that's great!

With some bouncy days in between, but I'll nail this stair step down soon!

Do you love the DS or what!
Was 66 this morning! We'll see how the DS stands up to my trip to Paris...
Hopefully this will all get resolved.Well, I actually weighed in at 197 lbs today. After being 177-180 for the most of the last 2 years, that is mind boggling to me. As always, I do think 5-7 pounds is poop weight because I am having issues again with adhesions and redundant colon. I had a CT last month and it showed at least one area with very likely what is an adhesion and then it showed redundant colon as well. Dr K and I are working out a plan and surgery is possible as I am up 2-4 times a night with 20-60 minute episodes of painful pooping where things get stuck and actual stool amount pushed out is sporadic. It is exhausting and quite painful at times.
That being said, I have good energy in general so I need to get labs as it has been 3 months, rather than my monthly lab cycle the last 2 years. Hopefully we can address my issue through a final surgery and I can feel okay enough with my bowels and subsequent level of discomfort to allow me to start working out. I do not want to gain beyond where I am at and ideally I would like to be 190. I am also in need of Thyroid panel again to see if maybe my levo dose needs to be increased. I am wondering if that is possibly leading to some weight gain.
I am happy to have gained but I want to be healthy and I want to make sure I don't keep gaining.
