Help Support Bariatric & Weight Loss Surgery Forum:

Good week.

I've been in this painfully slow stair step, but after 8 weeks and no loss, two weeks ago I had a 3 pound drop. Then this week, I had a 3 pound drop ( It was 3 one day, but up a pound today)

LW - 144
TW - 141

Getting so close to 135. And my BMI is finally 25 :)

I was honestly very surprised to see the scale move this week. My boyfriend and I were on a business trip in Santa Monica earlier this week, so I expected not to drop anything. However, once we landed in California, I started having what I call "tiny tummy", and have been filling up much more quickly than usual. That made it much easier to stick to eating protein first, even if I felt bad tossing out at least half of anything I ordered. At least it was on the company card!

last Sunday 172.2 this week 169.4.

if I can loose at least another 15 to 20 pounds in the next 6 weeks I'll be where I want be to have mý surgery. well not where I really want to be but where I could live with!

You are doing great.

I have finally gotten past the childhood induced guilt of throwing away food. Combine that with growing up on the clean your plate and take all you want but eat what you take are very hard to overcome. Now, at home, I can and will put stuff back if halfway thru or throw it away if I reach full.

Good for you. Just be careful and don't get malnourished again.

You will get there. I thought I was done at 155, 149, 145 and I still keep going down. It just takes more time as you get smallers.

Thank you so much! You always think that you're the one it isn't going to work out for, right? I'm glad I've had the help of everyone here :3

OMG, so right, I so thought this was not going to work for me. Just know it works for almost everyone and we all thought we'd be the one it does not work for.

Oops, the scale is going in the wrong direction. I made some diet changes the past couple of weeks due to concern over my liver numbers. I stopped drinking protein drinks and I am concentrating on eating foods only. I read on a bodybuilding forum that those who drank/ate a lot of whey protein had elevated liver numbers and when they returned to eating high protein foods only (no shakes/bars) the numbers went back to normal. Who knows if there is anything to this, but I thought I would give it a try. It is not so easy to eat at least 100 gm of protein even at a year out. I have an appt to see a specialist in a few weeks.

Been a crazy and exhausting week. A bit overwhelmed when my labs came back my vitamin levels are a bit wonky. Ivan had one here or there low, but this time it was A, D, zinc, RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, HDL (overall cholesterol was down to 79). When the surgeons office gets them it's like they have a very generic protocol- if D is low (give Rx D2 50k 2x/wk (we all know that isn't even right for us- not to mention it hasn't brought my D up in the past why would they think it would now). I don't feel like they are looking at the big picture overall and working with me to improve it, but rather just slapping 6 scripts in the mail without even calling me or scheduling a follow up. I did finally find a new GP so I will share my results with her. It is just a little overwhelming because I've never really had this sort of thing before and I feel like I'm eating and supplementing better than ever.

Remember you are barely a year past surgery. Elevated liver numbers are almost a given the first year or so. If you need an occasional protein shake or even a daily one right now, don't fret. What was your last protein number on your lab work? That is what you need to pay attention to right now.

Hope your new GP can help.

With some bouncy days in between, but I'll nail this stair step down soon!
