Good morning, Everyone!

1/10/25
122.6 pounds

1/19/25
119.4 pounds

I decided to weigh myself this morning. The last time I weighed myself, on 1/10/25, I weighed 122.6 pounds. I had gained .6 of a pound from the 12/29/24 weigh in to the 12/31/24 weigh in. Which, to me is really not a huge deal.

Since 12/31/24, I have not been eating the best again, not taking my vitamins consistently. Not getting enough sleep. Just keeping it real.

I weighed myself this morning to get a starting point again.

I lost 3.2 pounds since 12/31/24. I am now weighing 119.4 pounds, BMI is 19.9

I told Don, my husband, and he was visibly upset/worried. I told him, I will start to take 1 shake of the “weight gainers” a day to start. He seemed okay with that. I am also going to try and eat more carbs and fat.

If I can’t maintain or gain some weight, I will make an appointment with the bariactric office but really, what are they going to? My labs are perfect. They can explain my lack of maintaining my weight.

Remember, you are only in trouble if you get to a 18.5 BMI or your labs suck pond water. What is your PCP saying about your weight, not your husband. Your husband isn’t a disinterested bystander.

I found if I ate a half a cup of oatmeal in the morning, my weight stabilized. Didn’t go up much but I stopped losing. Find your “oatmeal “.

My PCP, Cardiologist and my bariactric nutritionist think BMI under 20 can be just as dangerous as a high BMI.

My bariactric nutritionist told me about 2 months ago, if my BMI goes below 20, I need to start consuming “weight gainers”.

I believe my husband is worried. Not really upset at me, just the situation, in general.

The surgeon, at our last follow up (11/19/24), said he does not know why I can’t maintain my weight. He wants to see what the next lab indicate (2/19/25) for our appointment (3/5/25). My thyroid is perfect and all my other labs as well. My protein is only 6.7 though.

stay warm, Liz, and glad to see you are up again.

what Liz said, and I hope you find what works for you.

I keep hiking outdoors (yay, SUN!) instead of going to the gym so haven't weighed myself but will update when I do.

Ok, listen to your PCP and cardiologist.
I’m not sure about the surgeon as mine didn’t want me under a 24.9 BMI. My PCP and cardiologist are fine with me right where I am. Just between a 19 and 20 BMI.

Now, is that weight in your birthday suit? What do you weight in their offices?

Last week 152
today 151

I begin to have hope I can keep from going back on a second BP medication. I have been using a lower your BP hypnosis thing on youtube and doing well with eating, generally. Also? we are past the worst of the winter, at least in terms of darkness. (we really haven't had snow/ice and of course there is time for that to change but it is the weeks of NO SUN WHATSOEVER that we had in Nov/Dec that is crushing)

Good. And we are heading back to the Spring Equinox. Right now, it’s just the crushing COLD!

stay warm, Liz, I hope you have all the layers and electric blankets you need! We really have a wonderful climate where I live, and I feel like the trade off of high cost of living for such mild winters is reasonable.

I weigh myself in my birthday suit in the morning after going to the bathroom. At the bariactric office, their scale is about 2 pounds heavier.
