I do NOT have time to be running a low grade fever. It's just under 100 and my doctor/the hospital only told me to be concerned if it got to 101.

I have too much to do to be sick. At least it isn't contagious!

Oh honey, I know you're busy but please take care of yourself too!! Try to get some rest and don't push yourself too hard!

The ONE thing I am doing is getting in my protein. Of course it's the RTD Premier stuff from Costco but I am drinking three a day on top of eating poached eggs, deviled eggs, broth, etc.
Aw ****. Don't DO that some more, as Mr. EN would say. ***hug***
It just hit me today...I think it was because my sleep was so compromised before I went into surgery Friday and hasn't improved much. Alto I am taking some benadryl to help me sleep. I got some Tylenol for the fever and have to balance it with the ibuprofen I was taking (one 200 mg tablet at night to help me sleep). The package says I can take up to 6 of the tablets a day, I've taken ONE and will only take one more before bed. But it seems to have helped the fever go away.

Most of what I have been doing is more mentally stressful than physically. Making phone calls. trying to set up getting a spot in the family plot, called a cousin who happens to be a minister to handle the service. Actually he and his brother are both ministers and I asked if they would both handle it. My stepmom had to handle the funeral home today.

Thanks to his wishes to be cremated, we don't have to do this in an all fired hurry but it does have to be taken care of. Dh has been a big help. But one thing I did do was go thru today was his closet. I got out his cardigans (love those) for me even tho they swallow me whole now. Most of his clothes are going to the Thermal Belt Outreach (all his sons in law are smaller than he was) and all the usable food in the kitchen. Quite a bit of food has to be tossed...I realize canned goods stay okay for some time after the use by date on the can but not THREE DAMNED YEARS later! Then Wed, we will have our handyman move the furniture from his place to ours. Most of it is Cathy's but she wasn't planning on keeping it when she moved to the coast in a month...she planned on leaving all that with him. So she gave it to us.

it's a lot of work, isn't it? My Mom did this for my Dad when he died and I did it for my Mom with a little help from one of my brothers. the other brother was useless, how pathetic.

I hope you can catch up on your sleep - it's so important. more hugs from me!!

((((((((Liz)))))))))

Yeah, it's a lot of work.

My stepmom is in the middle of packing her own place cause she was moving this month. My full sister decided years ago to not be involved with daddy. My oldest half sister is in class this week...she had planned for the last YEAR to get her CE class this week. She's the vet. And the youngest half-sister has an excuse for everything and is no help.

My stepmom would do it but since she is giving us most of the stuff in his apt, it's only fair to take care of it for her.

Liz, rest when you can! While you are healing from your jaw surgery you are in need of lots of TLC too.

Are you any better today?

Wow, Liz, that seems like almost too much all at once. Please rest and hydrate and promise you will find some way to pamper yourself in short order! Wishing you naps, a healed jaws, comfort, quickly sorted, packed up and rehomed goods, no fever, good health and a speedy recovery for your jaw and most of all a huge hug for your daddy.

I slept last night very well using just ONE benadryl at the beginning of the night. I saw my PCP yesterday and mentioned my issue with sleeping to him. He agreed that the benadryl was a good SHORT term option. I was using two a night at first but "forgot" to take my second one last night during my middle of the night potty break. I suspect I can completely stop those in a week.

Jaw is healing, doesn't look as bad as it did early this week. And no return of the fever.

I took Wed and Thursday as down days. Still did stuff here at the house but at my pace.
