Will - when something like that happens, and although under HIPAA you don't owe anyone any explanations, I think that it would be the most politically correct thing to do to tell you co-workers:
  • That you are acutely aware of the problem
  • That it is a medical issue that you are struggling with (they clearly can see how thin you've become) but which should eventually resolve
  • That you are doing everything you can to minimize the effects on others, but you regret that you aren't always going to be successful
  • That you hope they will be understanding and that you are honestly doing the best you can
One explanation should be enough to quell the grumbling and gossip for a while.

@Will2014 even those who don't still work. For me I think the thing that makes me not feel bad is I let all the people who are around me a,lot hey I'm going to have unbearable bm and gas. Should you ever get offended know that I did everything possible to not make you uncomfortable. I carry Lysol and matches. I'm flushing the toilet the entire time I'm dumping. So people do cut me some slack. But my kids did make the rule if we are in the car for me to get out the car and walk far away as possible till I air out. The first time I passed gas in the car my daughter stopped the car and jumped out and start puking. My son sees my daughter puking and did the opened the flood gates vomiting. It was terrible

You did the best you could. After that you can't do not more. Shooooot. I'm sure you didn't want to. EVERYONE IN THE WORLD DOES IT. U have a medical condition screw them if they don't understand if you have explained to them. I hate Lysol but that horrible stuff and matches are the only ones that not make just smell like flowering shyte.....lol
