Bought a purse through mail order and it had the security tag in between the outer shell and lining. I was setting off alarms going INTO places. Thanks to a clerk who knew about this, I'm no longer setting them off. The store doesn't even sell this brand; so grateful. One would have thought they desensitize it before sending it.

oh, lord - how embarrassing would that be. not that it is in any way your fault, of course. geez!

you like the purse? I love purses. when I first lost weight I went through a phase where I couldn't stop buying purses...weird. I've stopped now but I feel the urge now & then. you can sure spend a ton!

look - my favorite is fossil and this is a lovely purse but even on sale it's $200. that's too damn much. .....maybe.

The store had scanners before the ladies room. That was really mortifying. I expected a security guard to break into the stall and I'd be caught with my pants around my ankles and swearing I didn't steal anything.

Jackie, that is a beautiful purse! I bought so many purses when I was fat. That was one thing that does not depend on body size. I didn't stop after WLS. TJ Maxx is my favorite place to shop for purses. I can get Tiagnello, B. Makowski, and Franco Sarto at much better prices than first rate. I've seen the occasional Fossil there, too. Yea, they're out of season, but it's a purse for crying out loud and I've never been that fashion conscious.

The purse that set off the alarms in Staples, Kroger, and Belk was a Coach. I do like it. They have a great website and good clearance deals. They just need to desensitize them before shipping.

Oh I LOVE bags. They really are the only fashiony thing that didn't get affected by my size, even shoes started being a problem when my feet turned into meat loaves, but expensive purses always stuck by me and made me feel better. I've had to stop, I would go broke at the Louis Vuitton store if my husband would let me

I totally told my husband last year that I needed a bag-ervention. Luckily for me, I don't really like expensive handbags- I like tote bags like this one that I got in WDW last year:

Or this one that I just got for myself for Christmas:

They're not that expensive, but a girl really doesn't need that many book bags even if she's a midlife crisis college student! ;)

Both are nice bags, especially the one with a paw print. Yeah, dogs and cats! I've made donations to charities just to get the bag. I am a bag **** and I'm not ashamed to yell it off the roof top.:p.
