I remember "sugar smacks" from my childhood. it's really not even food, just a sugar delivery vehicle.

my crack is salty: Ritz crackers, especially.

I was thinking about this the last time I was at the casino: there are some machines I don't even sit at just like I don't buy Ritz crackers. those machines just get bigger and louder and more rising noise and spinning wheels until you'd put your last "credit" on the line to make that payout happen.

you can smell the dopamine hits!!

I was never a good loser on diets. I managed to get down to 80kg (175 lbs) for about five minutes, with super strict diet and HIIT 3x a week - and that's with a band!

I had no trouble losing weight from about 15 to 35. My problem was keeping it off and ever time I stopped dieting, the lbs came back with friends.

Late 40’s for no apparent reason, I started losing. Turns out it was because I was a full blown diabetic. Once on meds, I started regaining again. Then added 50 lbs when I went on neurontin. I finally said ‘no more diets’. Also a neurologist weaned me off the neurontin. Once I did that, I lost about 40 lbs and stayed fairly stable between 205-210 for many years.

MY “crack” is either a huge bowl of rice drowning in butter. I don’t do that anymore. I stopped eating most cereal long ago. My favorite was Raisin Bran. Now, I watch my skinny ass daughter eat cereal and it no longer appeals to me.
