Hello and good day, my name is Abe, short for Abelardo, new to forums and new to Bariatric surgeries. Just starting to inform my self on options of surgery to loose wight. The research I am doing is for two people my mother and my self.

My mother is 65 and my self 46 years old. Very long story short after a battle with being over weight and the I can do it attitude I am more over wight than ever at 281.6 punds 5'11". I have always been scared about bariatric surgery but now considering it an option. Thus the better I educate my self about which is the better option the better I will do in the end result. From what I read I am considering the
Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS) Gastric Bypass

Welcome!
I have a good friend (she doesn't post on any public websites) who had the DS at age 62. She did great with it and it improved her health greatly. I hope your mother will join you in your research so that you will both be well informed.
