I thought "hahaha" and looked at weather.com to see what the temps in Phoenix really are.

Gulp.

102 today rising to 119 by Monday and settling down to a "cool" 115 by midweek.

I can barely tolerate it when it occasionally hits 90 and am sure I would be dead at 30 degrees hotter.

I'm with you. Add the humidity and it's miserable.

But dry heat is still HOT!

It isn't hot in Phoenix until it is over 100. We are 96 degrees here today but for some reason are humidity is only 42%. When I lived in the Valley they thought 30% humidity was horrible. LOL. 98 degrees and 98% humidity is far worse than 115 with basically no humidity.

El Paso was the same way. You'd walk outside and the heat would singe your nose hairs when you breathed! It was fun to have friends come visit and watch them guzzle water like crazy because they weren't used to a dry climate.

I've lived here all my life...no matter what anyone says you do not get used to it. It is freaking HOT! Your legs will stick to your leather car seats and feel like the skin is melting off. You will find creative ways to hold the steering wheel until it cools off! However the other 9 months of the year are beautiful and hard to beat. No snow or hurricane or other crazy natural disaster just heat. Stay inside or the pool and drink water and you'll survive!

To put something in a nicer way, my sister was not so fond of her dry nasal passages while in the west and her need to frequently excavate them with her finger. She at least had the decency to do so in private even if she did complain about it.

That was MY issue out west...no freaking humidity. While 98-100% humidity when it isn't raining is no fun, at least your body doesn't dry out SO freaking fast. The lowest I am comfortable with is about 40%. (We use a humidifier in the winter to raise it in the house).

I know some people complain about the humidity as much as others do the lack of it, yet I rather like it. Even now in the winter, my hands get a bit dry. In CO my lips and hands were a mess without constantly slathering on something.
