I have a surgery date!!!

Just a quick check-in... pre-op to sign paperwork, consent etc on 9/28. Insurance approval in hand. I felt a little better today when I found out my Dr hasn't lost anyone yet with this surgery. Looking forward to sharing the journey with several of you. My mom's been in the hospital so I've been MIA for a bit. She is improving so that's good. Her condition is one of the reasons I'm taking care of this for myself now. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. If I don't make it back on to post before surgery, I'll have @Pacifica post an update for me once I'm out.

I hope our Mom will be better soon, and I'm very glad you're taking steps to take care of yourself. I've seen so many people get caught up in caring for others and neglect their own needs, which in the long run helps no one. So good for you for moving forward.

Let us know when you get home. I had my surgery at Duke in February and couldn't be happier with the experience.
